This original oil painting was inspired by one of my walks along the canal in Co. Kildare, Ireland. It was a lovely sunny hazy frosty day. The surface of the canal was frozen and covered with the frost, so bright and white . It was so beautiful! I really loved the contrast of the white frost on the canal with the dark frost along the sides and the copper gold of the grass along the banks and the sunny haze everywhere. So I took a few snaps, then at home I started a painting while the impressions of the day were still so clear!
