The painting shows an old stone cottage in the mountains in spring time. It is an early spring. Not all trees have leaves yet and the garden is still full of dry grass and vegetation. However, the bright sunny day with trees in blossom, suggest to us that it is spring. The painting was inspired by my love of the Irish landscape. I wanted to show the freshness of the mountain scenery and the contrast of colors that can be seen often in Ireland on bright sunny days.
